Dear Members of the GeoHumanities list,
I am writing to let you know about a half-day pre-conference Workshop at
DH2015 in Sydney that might be of interest to you. Participation will be
limited to 30 persons. I encourage you to sign up for it as you are
registering for DH2015.
*Title:* Exploring Peer Review in the GeoHumanities
*Date/Time:* Tuesday, 30 June 2015 9:30am-12:30pm
*Location: *Building EA, University of Western Sydney, Parramatta Campus
*Organizers*: Karl Grossner, Kathy Weimer, David Wrisley
*Registration Includes*: Workshop, Morning Tea, Lunch
*Description:* This workshop is a community consultation designed to
explore review criteria of GeoHumanities interactive scholarly works.
Spatially-inflected digital projects embody assumptions in their data and
visual outputs that differentiate them from text-based research.
Discussion will include best practices in the field, as a first step
towards validating the research within broader scholarly communities.
Attendees will review pre-selected projects, working in small groups to
test the draft criteria. Those involved in, or interested in,
GeoHumanities research and information visualization, as well as those
interested in exploring DH peer review criteria are this workshop’s target
audience. Laptops are beneficial, but not required.
